2. September 2009 Back along the Savannah Way
No Comments Published in Trips by MarianneWe have been travelling back west along the Savannah Way. This is pretty much the same way as Simon and Marianne took a few weeks ago but I can assure you, it’s never the same. This time round we spotted quite a few jackaroos moving cattle.
We spend a night of great bushcamping in Gregory Downs right next to the river where we even could swim. To celebrate this great spot we even made pancakes on the fire for breakfast.
We diverted from our original plan because a lovely guy at the tourist information in Crydon suggested that we go to Lawn Hill National Park for a few days. On the way there we encountered a huge swarm of grasshoppers. When we got to Lawn Hill they where sitting in all the trees and they where eating away all the palms.
