4. July 2009 Skytrek at Willow Springs

1 Comment Published in Trips by Marianne

We arrived safely and without any problems in the Flinders Ranges after Bruce got fixed in Clare. As the weather was a bit unsafe for a longer walk (there has been quite a bit of rain lately, not the sunny Australia we hoped for…) we decided to explore the Skytrek at Willow Springs Station. The Skytrek is a 70km 4WD Track through gorges, valleys and over mountains, that offers some breathtaking views of the Flinders Ranges.

Are you in the Northern Flinders with these photos? It looks like it – a bit rockier, less trees, kinda a bit more rough… more dirt… more chances to get stuffed.

And I hope you are dropping my fine friend Greenie a line upon your approach to Alice. My tip is to arrive with a good single-malt aged Irish Whisky and a CD of The Cure B-sides. You’re likely to be asked to move in! Just remember your sandpit turf rules when the boys come to play. It’s their pit.

Of course, give the ever-patient Nat my love, and the two boys a cheek squeeze and a big hug from Soxey & Jussin.

Good to see that you kept on truckin’. High five Bruce. My tip on the next leg is to stop for a vanilla ice-cream cup at Rabbit Flat.
