We only spent a few days at Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Watarrrka National Park (Kings Canyon) as this area is quite ‘touristy’ and therefore quite expensive. On top of this the weather was quite cloudy, so there were no pretty sunsets.

We somehow managed to arrive at Ayers Rock on ‘Territory Day’, which is some kind of holiday in NT. Its quite surreal as they have green grass in the areas for campers, which is in stark contrast to the red sand and native bushes.

So there we were – sitting on green grass, sipping wine and watching a fireworks display in the middle of the desert. Very random, and slightly crazy.
