3. August 2009 Victoria Highway

Our journey brought us along the Victoria Highway, which follows the Victoria River from Kununurra to Katherine. On this stretch of road we discovered quite a few unexpected places as we were trying to get away from the masses.

We stopped in at some very tiny but lovely national parks like the Keep River National Park, the Flora River Nature Park and the Umbawarra Gorge National Park. At Umbawarra Gorge we even could go for a swim in the rockpools as there were no crocodiles.

We got to see some nice wildlife, amongst it an absolute HUGE spider.
